Behind Close Doors

You see a smile, you see a nice car, you see a happy family, and you see a dream turned into a reality. You see all these positive things but what you don’t see is the struggle. You don’t see the pain that person is going through who stays smiling all the time, you don’t see the amount of hours that person had to work in order to get that car, you see a happy family but don’t see the hell that they have went through in order to stay together, and you don’t see the years spent on turning something that people said wouldn’t happen into something that could change the world forever. You see I feel like we judge based off of appearance rather than the heart, the mind, and the spirit. We pass people everyday and we stare at how there life is better than ours or judge and say how they are just another person from the streets. But yet we don’t see the street kid is actually calling out for help but no one is willing to listen and that the person who we think is living a better life than us is actually the one who is looking for the most help. You see I know where I come from, I come from a struggle that turned into a way out, I come from a cloudy vision to something so bright and clear, and I come from a family that will believe in me even when I don’t believe in myself. But if you see me you’ll just think I’m a person that’s always motivated and happy all the time, but it wasn’t always like that. So I say it’s time to come together, it’s time to pick up our broken pieces and make new ones, and it’s time we start building a better world.
