Who’s your competition?

Most of us enjoy watching sports and we usually all have a favorite team or favorite player. We look at sports and when our team or players faces someone, who we think is as good as they are, we say they have competition. But what if that was wrong? What if I told you that you aren’t competing against the other person, you are competing against yourself? You see, everyday you have a choice and that choice could involve many things, but it’s up to you to choose which one you think is important to you. I learned that we all have the choice to chase our dreams every single day even if it’s just by doing something small. But, I have also learned that chasing our dreams requires many things, but one of the main ones it requires is that you are in competition with yourself to be better than you were the day before. You see, before the game has even begun. Before the bell has even rung, you have to know that you put in the work, and did something different each day to improve your skills overall. You have to go through your own pain physically and mentally, and come out on top every second of everyday. You have to chase after that person, who you picture yourself being in the next few months or next few years. You see, your competitor already knows how good you are but you have to tell yourself just how good could you be. You see, when you are in competition against yourself it’s up to you to get yourself up early in the morning. It’s up to you to finish that last rep. It’s up to you to submit that paperwork, and it’s up to you to get yourself to where you want to be. So, remember you are your hardest competitor that you will ever face and to beat that competitor you must face him or her every single day. Because self competition is a never ending fight because it’s a fight that involves just one’s self.
